Try to calm yourself during tense situations in games like for example in Alien Isolation. When a game gets to tense, I can mentally calm myself down. After that, nothing even came close (except P.T.). The thing that made me almost immune to any other horror experience was Silent Hill 1 on the Playstation. I play horror games because I love the mystery aspect to them. How do you people overcome this? Do you have any tips? But when it comes to video games, I simply give up.Įdit: I'm also not scared of horror movies or audio stories.Īlien Isolation, Evil Within, Soma, Fear 1 and 2, Dead Space 1 and 2 are great games that come to mind which I simply cannot complete and I'm really sad because of it. I'm not afraid of the dark, I'm not afraid to walk outside at night in dark alleyways, I don't get scared if there's a random loud noise and I've been through some scary situations in my life which I don't like to mention but I've handled them without pissing my pants let's say. The weird thing is that I'm not an easy person to scare in real life. Alien Isolation in particular looked gorgeous, sounded amazing and felt very solid gameplay wise but as soon as I had the very first encounter with the alien and the tense music kicked in I just quit in a split second. Bought The Evil Within and Alien Isolation recently and as much as I enjoyed playing each one of them for 2 hours, I simply couldn't keep going because I get terrified. So many horror games that I know are great but I simply don't have the balls to play through them.
